Joyful…

Hello family šŸ¦‹

We had a lovely and busy weekend. Finishing up the tract work, then we saw a clear night with a beautiful full moon when we went to the late Memorial. You know we were one of the last to have it, only Alaska and Hawaii after us! The next day our visiting speaker gave a great talk and then we had a wonderful get-together for the friends where they interviewed the speaker and we had yummy barbecue ribs and a lot of other food. Also a young sister played the guitar and sang some Original Songs from JWBroadcast. Then they got the elders as a group to sing us a kingdom song! It was the jivey one we all like to sway to….number 57…ā€it’s the person, not the place…ā€ everyone loved it! That was a huge deal for the friends because they had never seen the elders here interact, Ā having fun, Ā being goofy. It was joyful.ā˜ŗļø

But he was having fun on Grand Turk island for his Memorial šŸ’•
Had to show you how baby Cavyn felt about the late Memorial with his parents Tim and Bree 🤣

Special weekend…

It’s that time of the year when we are thinking of Jesus and the Memorial. Ā We have been busy in the ministry getting the invitations out. We have a brother and his wife coming from California to give the Memorial talk and the one on Sunday. They were long time Bethelites that know our Cordinator. Looking forward to meeting them tomorrow.

…meantime here are some springtime pictures from Prosser area…

Baby lambs everywhere!
Cute donkeys
Here is out our door. These trees are everywhere ! Some say they are flowering Cherry trees others say plum trees.
Here is in front of the Kingdom Hall

And last of all this is a painting a young sister painted for us. She said it’s paradise with a Kingdom Hall on the hillside.

I love it! So happy like the young lady who painted it for us!šŸ¦‹

Just for fun….

Hi again! I wanted to post some fun pictures that I thought the cousins would like to see…. Auntie Susie getting her hugs from KylešŸ¤—

Oh and I forgot to post this picture from our trip to Maui. We stayed with our dear sweet friend Savannah who we also went through SKE with. She is such a water baby!

Love you all!šŸ¦‹

Day trip…

Hi! Spring is coming to the Yakima valley. So many baby animals around here! Down the road there are chunky brown and white baby goats jumping around and on top of their mother. Then we have a lot of sheep around here with their adorable fluffy babies running together like they were in a race. We have seen some fresh born wobbly calves in the fields around Prosser too.

Sunrise out my kitchen window

Today we went on a day trip up to the elk camp (where they feed the elk hay, when they come down out of the high ground in search of food in the winter) but since it’s been a farely mild winter here they were not there, but Bryan brought his bonockulars and sure enough up the mountain before the snow we spotted a huge heard of those giant creatures all lounging on the grass. Must of been 30 of them.

Then we drove up toward Chinook pass to a high mountain lake. It was snowing and cold. No spring there! Several feet of snow. Ate lunch at whistling Jacks resort. So cool.

but here is spring back in Charleston at Dad’s place. Beautiful azalea bush.

Beautiful day…

We went for a walk after the meeting today. Across the Prosser bridge and through the old downtown area. It was a beautiful day! Just thought I would share some awesome pictures Bryan took.

Last night driving into Prosser to the west was an amazing sunset that looked like a bomb exploded on Mt. Adams!

Jehovah’s creation never disappoints.

love from Bryan and I.šŸ¦‹

I’m back…

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been writing. Ā Some of you have asked me to keep the updates coming…

So here we are in the middle of March! We had a lovely trip to Maui! Hope to go back there some day!

We have been busy in field service. And have been working on getting a job, which has tested our faith but at the same time allowed us to see how Jehovah takes care of us…and that has built our faith!

Beautiful sunset on the river!
Saw this while driving in service. Prosser was just ahead.

Then the beginning of March we flew back to South Carolina and visited family. It was so good to see them! Kyle flew back for a week when we were there and it was amazing to hug on him and hear his adventures!

Our first night seeing him! The cat had to get involved!
Yes he has grown a mustache. Some kind of male bonding with the guys on his crew
So good to see everyone!

Then we had to pack up and leavešŸ˜ž…that is when the cat got out of our luggage!😿

On the flight home we sat next to a young man from India who worked for Amazon out of Seattle. He was very nice even though there was a little bit of a language barrier, mostly us not understanding his strong accent😜. Anyway Bryan asked him how many languages Amazon.com was in now and he proudly replied 27! Then Bryan said our web site is in over 900 languages! He was shocked and said ā€œWho are you?ā€ We told him Jehovah’s Witnesses and he had no idea who or what that was. So we pulled up the web site (by this time we had landed and could use the internet) and showed him how to change it to his language Gujarati. His eyes were big😳. He asked if we had any Arabic because they are reversed reading right to left and is very difficult to translate….oh yes we did…we changed it to Arabic. He was very impressed. I gave him our JW business card. He was really checking it out and carefully put it in his wallet. Something the angels can work with.šŸ¦‹

love you all😘

Still here….

Sorry I haven’t posted lately. Time goes by! So the winter here hasn’t been to bad. Seems it has been just as cold back in South Carolina! Plus they had more snow than us!

Jehovah is taking such good care of us here. The friends have been so generous. Both with their love and in a tangible way. Ā Always making us feel loved and appreciated. The winter days here are quite grey and there is seasonal depression that can be quite severe. But the friends plug along.

Meanwhile…Kyles day in the Caribbean…

Clouds rolling down the hills.

We had our 30th wedding anniversary this month and they surprised us with a Hawaiian themed anniversary party! It was fun to pretend it was warm and sunny and the food was delicious!

This week we do take off to fly to Maui to visit Savannah Cano and enjoy some warm sunny beaches! It’s cheap to fly from Portland! Can’t wait for that! Pretty good anniversary present, huh?šŸ¦‹

30 years and still having fun!ā¤ļø

It’s snowing….

So it was beautiful to see the first snow, but then…it’s gets hard to go in service! It was a sheet of ice this morning!

It started to snow in service on Friday…
Then we looked out the windows the next morning…

One of the family’s here has several acres of cherry trees that will produce this year (it takes about 4 years to get cherries) but the beavers came up from the river and killed 30 or 40 trees.

stay warm family! I love you guys!šŸ¦‹

Service on the hills…

Hi there! We have been busy in service. Still acting like tourists gawking at the ever changing scenery. The inversion fog stuck around for so long! Then we went up on Horse Heaven Hills and came out above the fog and saw the sun! It was wonderful!

Put we had to drive back down in it. The fog finally did lift. And we saw the amazing mountains again!

Here’s one a sister took once before from the hills when it was foggy.

These are some Norwegian horses called Fjord ponies. They had great mains and tails like the hair dying trend came from them! 😜

Bryan expounding his elder knowledge to our new 34 yr single elder.

So that’s all for now. Just missing you!šŸ¦‹

Freezing fog…

Hello! So they have a common phenomenon around here called a freezing fog. It’s when a thick fog sets down on this wide valley and the temperatures dip and stay below freezing. So everything looks white. It’s quite beautiful. But the low clouds stick around and I miss the sun. ā˜€ļø

But this also brings in an air quality advisory which basically is pollution that sits here and those with weak lungs (and everyone)are warned to stay indoors. They even have warnings against any wood burning fireplaces unless that’s the only source of heat! I wondered why I didn’t see any of the friends with wood burning fireplaces! Ā Stinks. In the paradise to come this will be an even more beautiful place because pesticides and pollution will be no more. In the meantime, we will busy ourselves with the Lords work! Trying to get used to these long dark cold evenings. Just makes ya want to slept and eat!

And then here’s where Kyle Brodie is. Snorkeling on Turks and Caicos on his day off from relief work. He’s the tall one.😜

šŸ¦‹have a good week!
