Wow, it’s been crazy busy. Today is the first day that I haven’t done any studying in two weeks. We ate on the beach again this afternoon , came back to our room and fell asleep.
Yesterday we heard about a boy who wrote a sweet love letter to his sweetheart…tied it to a rock and threw in thru her window. So like us in service…our motive could be good, our message is good, but our delivery can be all wrong! 😆
Here we are waiting outside our instructor’s office for our first review.A group study (with pizza!) on Friday night before the exam.
Here is Bryan after his haircut. We were out walking around the building in search of an owl that everyone sees around here. (I’m determined to get a picture of him! )
So we had a class on my (and yours) all time favorite subject….Jehovah. If you ever want to feel wonderful read slowly and meditate on “Jehovah” in the Insight book. So much there. I love the part about his standardization in all creation. So impressive. I also love the part under the subheading “Why the god of peace fights”. This is good for those who think he has changed from a God of war, in the Hebrew scripture, to a God of love in the Greek part. The sentence “And he has no fear of making known any of the details of his righteous warfare; he makes no apologies, having nothing for which to be ashamed.” Boom…that’s right!
Tomorrow we have lessons on Jesus Christ.
I hope you know, I wish everyone of you could be here with us. Learning and shutting out the world. Its very emotional and I hope you don’t mind me sharing it with you…people I truly love. Oh man, I’m getting sappy!!😭
We learned about the different covenants of the Bible this morning. Such good reminders that Jehovah holds himself to his high standard of justice! We also had a wonderful lesson on humility. Once a Gilead student asked an instructor, if humility is so important, why is it not listed as one of the fruitage of the spirit? The instructor said humility is SO important that it is in the SOIL the fruitage grows in. Deep.🤔 We also learned we need to be like SOFT clay in God’s hands to mold us and then when he’s finished molding, it will absolutely be the best for us.
Bryan had his scheduled hair cut yesterday! He looks good!
So I know some of you’all are wondering if I did better than Bryan on the test..the answer is…👍🏻Yes! 🤣
Today we learned all about righteousness. Some interesting stuff under declared righteous in the insight book. We also discussed how Jehovah has a place for each and everyone in his organization. Because he draws us. A secular organization doesn’t hire people just to mill aimlessly around in their organization. So with Jehovah a god of order he has a place for us. Psalm 147:4 was brought out that if Jehovah knows how many stars and their place, and names them, then of course he knows us and our place with him. And sometimes with circumstances our place is moved, but he never abandons us. I love that point. Everyone is important.
There is a room here set up like a museum of the history of JW’s. All this next week we will be working our way thru the Proclaimers book and watching movies of the modern history. Looking forward to that.
Zoom in on the letter on the desk if you can. It says..”My dear Brother Russell”Here’s an old watchtowerPlaying dress up in the history room. 😜🦋
Our first day to just get out and explore was this afternoon. No studying for tomorrow. So most everyone took off this afternoon and explored the area. All the young’ins went swimming at the beach. Bryan, Paul, Tina and I drove down to Flagler beach and had a late lunch and walked on the beach. Then Bryan and I had to get back to do the cart witnessing on the trail by the school, between 5:00 until 7:00 pm. It was a lovely evening, nice breeze and lots of birds to watch, but less people walked by than when we use the cart on the trail in Charleston on Sunday mornings!
Lunch by the beach. This was their key lime pie!I think this was on an assembly about what NOT to do while cart witnessing!!
We did it! We finished one week of classes! Tomorrow is the exam and after that I do not want to read for 24 hours….and then I’ll start studying for Monday. Today we took a class photo. Forever memorialized on the big tv screen that scrolls thru all the 76 classes before us, in the lobby of this school. Some day , when I have time, I want to stand there at that tv and watch all the pictures of the previous classes. I’m sure I would see some familiar faces.
Every Friday afternoon our last class is a taped Gilead lecture usually from a governing body member. Today it was one about the faithful and discreet slave. Very cool. Then after supper most of our class went back upstairs to the classroom to study for the test together comparing notes. It was a little crazy. Not as controlled as class!
The class of circuit overseers is leaving this weekend and I am going to miss a couple of those sisters I have bonded with! One young couple from the Memphis circuit that the Hunters visited I really liked and a couple from a Denver circuit I love! We run into them at the breaks and at lunch. All 5 classes eat together for lunch.
Now for some pictures…

Well, we took a trip to the Promise Land today. But you can go to! We looked at all the maps in the Bible and the section in the Inspired book on the promise land plus media showing the land today. It was so fun! On the test Saturday we have to identify a lot of places.
We also had a class on endurance. Remember I said I had a challenging assignment? They assign these parts before they even meet us. So another sister (Candy Marrow) and I were assigned to be interviewed on how we have endured. I tried to get out of it, thinking compared to others even in the class, I haven’t faced severe trials! But the instructor insisted, and a very long story short, he pulled our tears out. And in front of everyone I had to talk about the stress of how much I worry about my loved ones and….. about losing Mom. Enough said. 😭 Candy talked about her unfaithful first husband. She has an amazing guy now!
Candy and meSaw Maggie DeAnglo working in the kitchen today! Our morning text group. The young couple are in the Russian congregation in Queens NY.
