The weather 😜….

Hello to all!

Well, I’m ready to be done with winter. The gloomy cold seems to drag on here in the northwest. At least we have each other as Jehovah’s people to keep us warm! We have good support for service and it seems the friends are always planning get togethers, which are very needed. They put on a pioneer dinner that was amazing! The couple that hosted went to a lot of work! The brother  is an electrician and who Bryan is working for. They also invited the families of the pioneers and a couple of the elders and their mates.

It was as pretty as a wedding reception!

One of their daughters enjoys the horses while in service…

Notice the fog in that picture? Usually you can see the hills in the background. It seemed like we were socked in with fog for weeks! (Can you tell it was getting to me?) No wonder so many take their vacations in the wintertime!

So last night when the sun peeked out for a beautiful sunset, I bundled up and ran down to the river to enjoy it! 🌥⛅️🌤☀️

Ecclesiastes 11:7…”Light is sweet, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.”

Happy day!🌞

Love you all!🦋

My heart…

Hello my loved ones!🦋

So yes, it has been awhile. We are all busy in Jehovah’s work. But I think of you often and it warms my heart.

We just got home from a trip back to South Carolina to see family and friends. Kyle had come home first of December from doing LDC work in the Caribbean and after a trip to New York, would be deciding his next move in life. He spent over a year in Turks and Cacaos, gaining valuable training. An experience he will never forget. So we spent 2 1/2 weeks with him and enjoying just hanging out and visiting with old friends.🥰 (of course we did a lot of card playing.)

With Papa💕

We also ate very well…

Here’s a couple of great cooks 👨🏼‍🍳👩‍🍳

Our morning routine…coffee on the couch
And coffee at Cracker Barrel.

and of course there was lots of loving…

And some serious talks…

Love those guys!😍

So Kyle bought our old Honda from Aunt Susan!

He’s ready to hit the road!
Good times were had by all!

So by the end of the second week there, I started to feel an uneasiness, even a sort of home-sickness for Charleston, I think Bryan was feeling it too. It was feeling so good being with our families.  Kyle had not heard anything from Bethel and had no official invite to Disaster relief. What direction was his life going to take? What job could he find to support full time service? Where will he live? We would soon be going over 2,000 miles away. The night before we left, I could not sleep. That’s not so unusual, but I was feeling like my heart was in 2 places.💔So of course I had to let Jehovah know about the major stress I was feeling. I love being with our Prosser Washington family and I dearly missed them. But I dearly love our families all living on the same street in Carolina. And our dear boy was here…making major decisions. I begged Jehovah to remember Kyle and find a place that he would be comfortable and at home and working in full-time service.

So I just want to share with you how kind and merciful our God Jehovah is. The morning we were about to leave for the airport, we were sitting on Bryan’s parents couch talking and looking at pictures when Kyle gets a phone call from Bethel. Yes a half hour before we were leaving Jehovah showed us He knows our hearts and our worries…Kyle was invited to Patterson to work in the AV department for next 11 weeks. It was more than his father and I could take…we broke down in tears (along with those in the room.) It was just what needed to know, Jehovah settled our hearts. We are so grateful. The trip home was long and tiring but we were so comforted knowing Jehovah has kept track of us. It is so humbling that so great a God remembers us small sinful humans…and listens to our prayers.

I love you🦋

November…

Hi to all!

Just sitting here all cozy under blankets looking out our door to a gray cold day! Winter is definitely here. Those long hot days of summer feel like a dream now! It even was snowing Sunday morning! Didn’t stick to the ground, but felt chilly all day. But…it seems like the service has been having a thaw. We are excited about a couple of new studies…if nothing else it is a huge boost to share the truth from the Bible and then let Jehovah work with it.

Out our window in the mornings now. Time to scrape the windows!
Coming down horse heaven hills to our valley. Rattlesnake mountain in the distance

Here is some beautiful sunset pictures from our house

A couple of weeks ago we had a pioneer supper at one of the new pioneer sisters. Only Jami Martin was out of town.

Happy pioneers eating a turkey dinner!

Hope you all are having a good autumn! Keep the faith strong and look out for unexpected blessings!🦋

Just a few more…

I forgot to show you my favorite part of the family visit…

Playing canasta!!! That’s Jonny’s hand of cards.

Our landlord Jimmy and wife Kathy also cooked us an amazing breakfast one morning…well they did run a Bed & Breakfast after all.😁

Funny Bryan teasing his Mama💗

Also just wanted to put another sweet picture up of new friends made.🦋

Family visit…

Hello all! 🦋

Well it happened…the impossible…we got Jonny and Laura to travel to the far state of Washington!! Yay! The wonderful Michelle and Jeff Fowler traveled with them and we had a lovely visit.

The weather was perfect and we took them around to our usual favorite spots…the lookout over the valley, Hanks Road thru all the fields, the Coates to experience the horses, Ranch&Home in Tri-Cities, to dinner at some of the “friends”, and the then we took them to our favorite favorite place….Paradise. (Mount Rainier, that is) New friends were made and new places seen. So…who’s next? 🤔😁

Fall colors up at Paradise

Enjoying some mountain air!
On the Pacific Crest Trail. The guys were so excited!

Another breathtaking view of Jehovah’s creation

Keep up the good work with courage! Love you all💗

Balloon rally….

Hello family 🦋

This month we had company from Charleston,(Tom and Barbara Gasque) and took a ride up to Mt Rainier, our circuit assembly about Boldness, and the big event of the year for the small town of Prosser, the balloon rally.

I do believe the Lowcountry dwellers from Charleston enjoyed going to Paradise. 😉 That is the name of the place where you can get up close to Mt Rainier. It was a lovely day with these unusual mushroom clouds hanging over the mountain. I guess not so unusual here, it happens frequently.

But going in service this month with all our new pioneers was the best thing about this month! Everyone is pumped up and ready to go! Even if during the week we find lots of not at homes, we enjoy being together…and the occasional treat of seeing baby kittens!

I got to love on them!😻

The assembly was awesome! So encouraging and went right along with the summer conventions.

The sunrise on the way to the assembly.

So then came the Balloon rally…so cool. They try to sent up balloons for 3 days weather permitting. One sister got to take a ride up in one and sent me some pictures!

the early morning on Sunday we joined some others on the field. But the weather was not cooperating so they just blew up a couple and kept them teathered to the ground.

Putting up the fire for the kids.

With Bryan’s little buddy, Jamison

Little guy in our congregation was very impressed!

Afterwards we walked downtown to see a street fair and sidewalk art. That’s one of the young sisters in the Hall. Quite the artist!

So all in all a busy month…going in service and loving the friends.😍

New service year…

Hello family! Summer has been so busy and has gone so fast!

So crazy experience today, the first day of the new service year..

I called on a return visit (Bryan was with me) that I have only placed magizines with twice before, the last time in June…first of all she remembered me, after I fumbled thru the new presentation, she expressed that she didn’t even have a bible because she could never understand it…until  I explain it to her when I come by.😳 …I think I stood there for a moment with my mouth opened..So I mentioned I could get her a easy to understand translation, so… she says let me give you my phone number so you can call me next week about when a good time to come back would be. 😳 Talk about the angels handing it to you all wrapped up with a bow on it!

That’s what I get for always saying this territory is so tough, and all our return visits have been dropping off.😒

In August Felisha came to visit! She is a single sister we went through SKE with. She loves the mountains.

Then we had pioneer school. It was amazing! Bryan was privileged to be an instructor.

Our instructors conspiring.😜
Jamie from our congregation was there for her first pioneer school!
Theses long time pioneers where in our school. An ex CO and his wife and her 2 sisters. So adorable!!
The local friends painted some rocks for the pioneers to take home!

And we had to deal with smoke from wildfires in this state, Oregon, California, and even blowing in from Canada! It was awful and unhealthy! But it has finally cleared up.

The smoke so thick we couldn’t see the over side of the river!🤢

I will try to post something at least once a month. Love you all.🦋

Grateful…

So…yes we miss our boy so much now that he is back to work 3,000 miles away…

But Jehovah continues to sustain us and bless our efforts superabundantly!

When we first came to Prosser we noticed the true hospitality of the older ones and fell in love with them. But the voices of the young we barely heard, at meetings and field service. But gradually things have changed with a little effort to know and love them…they have flourished! It makes us very emotional that 6 have gotten babtized since April and more are making plans for this winter. When we first came there  were a few that would come out in service with us on fridays (a day off school for many) then more and more came out. Now our Fridays, and even Wednesday this summer, are loaded with young ones! Many are auxiliary pioneers. We love them dearly! Then to make our joy even more…9 applications for pioneering  were requested! (We have 5 right now) And since some haven’t been babtized long enough, they are planning for this winter or next fall to start. The congregation is noisy with young ones now! They comment from the heart every meeting! As Jamie our pioneer mama put it “Great things are happening!” It makes Bryan and I so emotional and thankful. At SKE they told us just go to your assignment and here’s what you do…go in service and love the friends. And Jehovah has does the rest.

i love you all 🦋

One of our Fridays. A few young ones were missing that day.😁

Just amazing…

Hello!🦋

The hot summer is here. But summer also means regional conventions! And you know 2018 was an amazing convention! We had 3 more young ones babtized and Bryan had the privilege once again to give the baptism talk. Even though it was held in a hockey arena that was not used too cooling in record heat that weekend, everyone there where such troupers just fanning themselves with the brothers making announcements to drink plenty of water. Just when I thought I couldn’t take it no more, there would be a talk so absorbing, that I would forget I was sweating. Plus the extra bonus was Kyle was with us!😁

About 4,300 attendance

Some of the young ones and Kyle at the convention

So Tuesday we headed to the mountains. It was lovely getting out of the heat! From our house it took close to 3 hours to get to Mt Rainier. It’s a place called Paradise that has trails and a museum. It’s really only about 100 miles as a crow flies from our house, but because of winding mountain roads it takes longer. But what a beautiful drive!!

That is snow down in the bottom of that valley. It was supposedly formed by a glacier.

This is Lake Tipsoo that you can walk around

Kyle standing on the bridge above that waterfall

It was simply amazing. We were about 5400 ft above sea level but the mountain rose another 9,000 ft to the top! We saw little specks moving on the snow up there that were climbers…maybe someday.

oh yea, then we took an evening and went and saw the horses out at the Coates!

Newest baby…one day old
My favorite picture!
Here is Kyle bonding with our neighbors dog, Mya, outside our door. Puppy love💗

love you all!
