It’s snowing….

So it was beautiful to see the first snow, but then…it’s gets hard to go in service! It was a sheet of ice this morning!

It started to snow in service on Friday…
Then we looked out the windows the next morning…

One of the family’s here has several acres of cherry trees that will produce this year (it takes about 4 years to get cherries) but the beavers came up from the river and killed 30 or 40 trees.

stay warm family! I love you guys!🦋

Service on the hills…

Hi there! We have been busy in service. Still acting like tourists gawking at the ever changing scenery. The inversion fog stuck around for so long! Then we went up on Horse Heaven Hills and came out above the fog and saw the sun! It was wonderful!

Put we had to drive back down in it. The fog finally did lift. And we saw the amazing mountains again!

Here’s one a sister took once before from the hills when it was foggy.

These are some Norwegian horses called Fjord ponies. They had great mains and tails like the hair dying trend came from them! 😜

Bryan expounding his elder knowledge to our new 34 yr single elder.

So that’s all for now. Just missing you!🦋

Freezing fog…

Hello! So they have a common phenomenon around here called a freezing fog. It’s when a thick fog sets down on this wide valley and the temperatures dip and stay below freezing. So everything looks white. It’s quite beautiful. But the low clouds stick around and I miss the sun. ☀️

But this also brings in an air quality advisory which basically is pollution that sits here and those with weak lungs (and everyone)are warned to stay indoors. They even have warnings against any wood burning fireplaces unless that’s the only source of heat! I wondered why I didn’t see any of the friends with wood burning fireplaces!  Stinks. In the paradise to come this will be an even more beautiful place because pesticides and pollution will be no more. In the meantime, we will busy ourselves with the Lords work! Trying to get used to these long dark cold evenings. Just makes ya want to slept and eat!

And then here’s where Kyle Brodie is. Snorkeling on Turks and Caicos on his day off from relief work. He’s the tall one.😜

🦋have a good week!

Monday…

Howdy! So life is busy. Bryan gave the talk on Sunday and a young couple took us out to lunch and told us they are seriously thinking of trying to pioneer. Of course you know Bryan and I jumped on that! They are 22 and 23, been married over 3 years, work full time. The times are urgent and their example would go a long way with the young people. Then after that recruiting session we went out to the Coates house where they had their service group gathered for a “to-go bag” party. It seems all the service groups do this. Bring their back packs or to-go bags for disasters or evacuation plans. They have food and associate but then go over lists of supplies and make sure of plans and that everyone is set, even planning whose house they will all meet at! We were impressed!

At the Coates house. They have a young baby horse in the background

We have been having some really good calls in service lately! Hopefully they will continue into bible studies. The weather has been so foggy damp and cold! But then it will clear up and you can see the mountains again and it’s all worth it!

If you zoom in you can see both mountains. So much better in person..hint hint, come see us!
Driving home last night. That’s Mt. Adams on the horizon
Ever changing weather out our window.

Love to all🦋
